Introduction to the Office of the Senior Financial Controller (Air Force):
Ministry of Finance, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Finance Department Memorandum No. MF (EC-1) DP-1/82/450/1(25) Dated: 27/09/1982, Revised System of Financial Management for the Defence Forces-1982 and the Report of the Martial Law Committee on Organizational Setup, December/1982, established the Defence Finance Department (DFD) in place of the erstwhile Military Accounts Department (MAD) to ensure dynamism, transparency and accountability in the financial management of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. In view of the same order, the Defence Finance Department was placed under the Ministry of Defence.

The Head of the Defence Finance Department (DFD) was named Controller General Defence Finance (CGDF). In order to properly carry out the financial activities of the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force, various SFC/FC offices were formed under the CGDF.

In continuation of this, the Office of the Senior Financial Controller (Air Force) was established to perform accurate accounting of all financial activities (excluding construction work) of the Bangladesh Air Force, implement internal audit and provide advice/guidance on the financial rules and regulations of the government.
The Office of the Senior Financial Controller (Air Force) is located near the Air Force Headquarters in Dhaka Cantonment. At present, it is a three-storey building, the entire part of which is used for the activities of this office.
